Concept
Science communication for the next generation
SKYSEF is an international forum where junior and senior high school students discuss sustainable society and environment in the 21st century. Students share research in science, technology, mathematics and ICT, then consider what actions can be taken based on their findings.
Since its launch in 2012, SKYSEF has connected schools that actively promote inquiry-based research. The forum aims to develop scientific literacy, independent learning, and the ability to discuss scientific ideas in English with peers from different countries and regions.
SKYSEF（Shizuoka Kita Youth Science Engineering Forum）は、21世紀における持続可能な社会や環境のあり方について、中高生が主体的に議論することを目的とした国際フォーラムです。世界各国から集まった生徒たちは、科学・技術・数学に関するテーマについて情報を共有し、意見を交わしながら、各自の研究をもとに「どのような行動をとるべきか」を共に考えます。またSKYSEFでは、国内外の中高生が一堂に会する貴重な機会だからこそ得られる学びを大切にしています。

Poster Session
Participants exchange ideas through poster-based dialogue, discussing their methods, data, and conclusions with the audience.

International Joint Project
Mixed teams collaborate on scientific tasks, using diverse perspectives to solve problems through inquiry.

Cultural Exchange
Participants deepen mutual understanding through cultural performance and informal communication.
